Job Description for Academic Coordinator
Reporting to the DoS, the Academic Coordinator is responsible for the effective coordination of internal and external assessment, identified programs and/or courses as well as managing resources.
Role of the Academic Coordinator
The duties and responsibilities of the Academic Coordinator may fall within all or any of the following areas, as determined by the DoS, who will discuss the particular duties with the Academic Coordinator.
To make recommendations regarding the design, development and revision of programs.
To recommend revisions to. and development of courses.
To participate in student recruitment, selection, and placement
To liaise with appropriate College personnel, and other external agencies in a manner which is consistent with College policies and procedures.
To advise the DoS on emerging trends in program curricula and on implementation strategies for curriculum revision.
To provide input to timetabling decisions and preparation
To develop and maintain statistical records on assessment
To identify the need for, and to recommend requirements for, facilities, equipment, supplies and maintenance of resources.
To develop and deliver internal assessment
To coordinate the evaluation of student progress, including recommendations regarding completion
CELTA/CELT/Trinity College London Cert TESOL
At least five years EFL teaching experience
MA TESOL/Linguistics or a DELTA/Trinity Diploma (or immediate plans to obtain a Level 9 Cert.)
Experience of management roles and of delivering teacher development sessions
Experience of Business, General, Academic and Examination English programme delivery
Experience of ESP programme delivery (preferred)
Excellent all-round communication and team-leadership skills
