Vacancies for Tutors in EAP and Research Methods


Position: Tutors in EAP and Research Methods. Full and part-time positions available.Dublin International Foundation College (DIFC), based on the Griffith College Dublin campus, runs foundation programmes which allow international students to progress to undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Ireland and the UK.

We are looking for an EAP and Research Methods Tutor to teach on the Graduate Diploma programme, which prepares international graduates for postgraduate courses. The course runs from the end of September to the start of July. Further information is available at www.difc.ie.

Details of the role:

  • The maximum teaching load is 25 hours per week (7 to be Research Methods).

  • The classes are a combination of lectures and tutorials.

  • The role involves grading EAP coursework and exams (both formative and summative) and supervision and grading of Research Methods projects.

  • The role involves working with students of diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.

  • Teaching takes place between 09.00 and 17.00, Monday to Friday.

Requirements:

  • For Research Methods, a postgraduate qualification is essential.

  • For EAP, a minimum of a CELTA (or equivalent) is essential; a relevant postgraduate qualification is preferable.

  • A minimum of two years’ teaching experience is essential; experience in higher education is desirable.

  • Excellent communication and administrative skills are essential.
