SEDA College, a dynamic ACELS, EAQUALS and ISO 9000 accredited English school in Dublin city centre, welcomes applications from suitably qualified, dynamic and passionate Assistant Director of Studies.

 

Job Title: Assistant Director of Studies

Key Skills: Academic management, co-ordination of teachers, academic administration, ability to control attendance, time management, clear communication, development of educational materials and teaching aids

Minimum Education: Primary degree and ACELS approved ELT qualification  

Minimum Experience: 2 years

Language: Native/C2 English speaker, other language an advantage

Professional Membership: IATEFL, ELT Ireland

Hours of work: Monday-Friday 0800-1700 including 1 hour lunch (hours may vary) Additional hours may required as necessary.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinating student induction and placement

  • Dealing with student and teacher queries

  • Exams and tests marking

  • Giving the speaking test at induction

  • Keeping a permanent record of grades and marks

  • Maintaining student records

  • Monitoring numbers in class

  • Overseeing student registration and academic records

  • Placing students in class according to their ability

  • Preparing transcripts/certificates

  • Scheduling classrooms and teachers, including class cover

  • Assisting the DOS in the management of the day-today aspects of the academic programme
