How to get involved

Getting involved with ELT Ireland offers a dynamic pathway for both individuals and institutions to elevate the English language teaching sector while advancing their own professional goals.

Individuals

Educators and academic managers can join our network to attend engaging workshops and our annual conference, share their classroom expertise in our Annual Bulletin, and connect through our jobs and training board.

Institutions

For language schools, involvement provides an opportunity to showcase a commitment to continuous professional development (CPD) by actively organizing and contributing to ELT events. Through our Professional Participation Pathway (3Ps), institutions that support teacher development and contribute to these events can earn badges that visibly recognize their professional excellence. Engaging in this framework not only helps schools demonstrate compliance with accreditation schemes like QQI’s TrustEd, but it also strengthens institutional reputation, empowering us to collaboratively establish Ireland as a premier destination for international language education.

The Professional Participation Pathway (PPP) provides institutions with a clear, sector-recognised framework to showcase their commitment to supporting teacher development.

By engaging in the PPP, schools can demonstrate compliance with QQI’s TrustEd and other accreditation schemes’ requirements, evidencing CPD while also motivating staff through visible recognition of their own professional development.

In a very competitive environment, institutional awards strengthen a school’s reputation as quality providers with focus on collaboration, and professional excellence, giving prospective students and staff confidence that high standards are consistently sustained.

In celebrating our professionals and schools in Ireland each year in this way, ELT Ireland aims to contribute to establishing Ireland as the destination for international language education.
