NSTS Malta are looking for an Academy Manager to join their team

NSTS MALTA is the innovator of the English Language sector in Malta in 1963 and continued to successfully lead both academically as well as nationally by founding the Federation of English Language Teaching Organisations of Malta (FELTOM) and advocating and drafting national legislation for the purpose.

It views the post-pandemic era as a fresh challenge in leadership and seeks to engage a highly motivated forward looking, and quality conscious, person with a sense of ownership towards the position, to fill the role of Academy Manager.

Role Description:

  • The Academy Manager plays the key role in the strategic development and day-to-day management of educational programmes, students, and staff.

  • The main thrust lies in managing the Teaching of English as a Foreign Language and in Teacher Training, with oversight of educational programmes of Internship, Secondary and Further Education Years, University Pathway, and Non-formal Education.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead and work as part of the Educational Programmes Team to ensure excellent service delivery of the highest standards and the introduction of new initiatives to expand upon and improve existing programmes.

  • Direct and manage the provision of ELT courses and classes, the coordination of student movements between levels, the day-to-day administration, budget, and maintenance of databases.

  • Lead and coordinate the provision of Secondary and Further Education, and University Pathway programmes, as well as the non-formal educational content and aspects of internship, Erasmus+ funded, cultural and self-development programmes.

  • Staff management – recruitment, induction, performance management.

  • Provide on-going direction, mentoring and support to the academic and other staff and participate in the delivery of the Teacher Training and Development Programmes.


  • Degree and DELTA or equivalent level 7 qualification.

  • Extensive ELT teaching experience (5+years) in a wide range of contexts including Teacher Training.

  • Demonstrated leadership and management skills at diverse, busy operational levels, including effective management of people, resources, and finances.

  • Experience in planning, monitoring, administration, IT, course and syllabus design and accreditation, rolling enrolment environment, junior summer operations, Erasmus+ funding and courses, ability to engage Secondary and Further Education, and University Pathway providers.

  • Solutions-focused approach to problem solving, working both independently and as a team player in a fast-paced environment

  • Recent certificate of clean conduct.
