NSTS Malta is looking for a full-time Director of Studies to successfully direct and manage its English
Language School past the pandemic period.
It seeks to engage a highly motivated forward looking, quality conscious individual set to grab and
deliver the challenges that this very long established and highly regarded post presents.
The School is the innovator of the English Language sector on the island and is instrumental in
setting up its national structures to safeguard the academic interests of the international learner.
Role description:
The Director of Studies plays a key role in the strategic development and full management of the
School’s teaching programmes. The selected person will actively contribute to the development and
management of the parallel international education programmes currently in the pipeline.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
Lead and work to ensure excellent service delivery to the highest standards and the introduction of
new initiatives to expand upon and improve the existing portfolio.
Direct and manage the provision of ELT, coordinating teachers, students, courses, classes, and
movements, the day-to-day administration, budget, and maintenance of databases.
Staff management – recruitment, induction and providing on-going direction, mentoring and
support to the academic and other staff and participating in the delivery of the Teacher Training and
Development Programmes.
Essential:
Degree and DELTA or equivalent level 7 qualification.
Extensive ELT teaching experience (5+years) in a wide range of contexts including Teacher Training.
Demonstrated leadership and management skills at diverse, busy operational levels, including
effective management of people, resources, and finances.
Experience in planning, monitoring, administration, IT, course and syllabus design and accreditation,
rolling enrolment environment, junior summer operations, Erasmus+ funding and courses.
Solutions-focused approach to problem solving, working both independently and as a team player in
a fast-paced environment.
Recent certificate of clean conduct.
Job-Type: Full-time, long term, based in Malta, competitive salary and benefits commensurate with essential
