ESL Teacher for virtual study abroad programme on Marketing and Communications in February
Programme Title: Virtual Study Tour in Dublin – International Marketing and Communications
Student: Japanese university students (10 in total), intermediate level English
Dates: 7-25 February
ESL Teacher: This person will be responsible for designing and delivering synchronous and asynchonrous class content to support student language learning and comprehension as they undertake a module in International Marketing and Communications. The marketing module will be delivered by a lecturer and the ELT will sit in on these lectures and support the students understanding of the content in a subsequent class, familiarising them with terminology. They will also help the students prepare for their capstone presentations. The focus of the English course will be language learning and introducing Irish culture. The students’ language level is B1. Course content can include virtual cultural activities/visits. There will be approximately 30 hours of synchronous content during the programme which will be delivered in the morning and 20 hours of asynchronous content in the overall programme, the ELT will required to attend all 30 hours of synchronous content and be responsible for delivering approximately half of this content (15 hours). They will also be required to provide some asynchronous content. They will be supported by administrative staff at IES Dublin
Criteria:
Undergraduate degree (any discipline but marketing preferably)
Recognised TEFL qualification
Experience in on-line course design and delivery of engaging, fun and dynamic classes
Confident user of Zoom/Moodle, educational technology and other innovative engagement platforms
Available across the teaching period to deliver synchronous and asynchronous content and participate in assessment
Eligible to work in Ireland
Available to work up 30- 50 hours (mornings Mon-Fri) from 7-25 February.
Preferable – experience of working with Japanese students
Rate: €30/h
