Programme Leader and Senior EAP Teacher in Cork


Job Summary: Griffith Institute of Language provides English for General Purposes Programmes to international students, along with delivering English for Academic Purposes (EAP), both Pre-Sessional and In-Sessional, across three Centres, Dublin, Cork and Limerick. Plans to introduce a new Programme ‘Pre-Higher Education Foundation Certificate for International Students’ (HEFC)will be delivered at Griffith College, Cork consisting of two Streams, Arts and STEM, and will include subject-specific teaching staff, as well as EAP professionals. As Programme Leader and Senior EAP Teacher you will have responsibility for the co-ordination of the HEFC Programme and will be required to undertake teaching on the EAP module. The Programme Leader ensures that an excellent care service is provided to all those who interact with GIL, students and staff alike.

Minimum Education/ Experience Requirements: 

* A minimum of 5 years EAP teaching experience within Foundation, Undergraduate and Postgraduate required; and a minimun of 2 years of EAP Course Directing. 

*Experience of teaching EAP in a University setting within the UK, therefore bringing knowledge of EAP models that have developed over time and of which have been found to produce effective and required results for learners. 

*Possess a minimum level 9 (Masters) qualification in English Language teaching, or equivalent with a preference to hold a Cambridge DELTA qualification. 

*Experience of Curriculum Development. 

* Must be legally entitled to work full time in Ireland for any employer.
